Paxos Summer 2020
Usually this time of year we re-connect with you with great pleasure to announce our programmes for music, art, walks, lectures and workshops in Paxos for the summer season. Faye Lychnou and Kathryn Baird have been working through the winter to refine the Paxos Festival and Irish Wingsofferings for summer 2020 and Chris Boïcos the art and ceramic exhibitions.

Drilling for Petrol in the Ionian Sea
Friends of Paxos and the association Fossil-Free Corfu with the support of WWF Greece have the pleasure of inviting you to the visual presentation and discussion - “Drilling for Petrol in the Ionian Sea”- to be held at the Gaios Public Library (KIP) on Tuesday 25 June at 7:30 pm with free entry. Paxos 2019: Music - Art - Culture - Ecology
Friends of Paxos has put together another exciting summer season of concerts, exhibitions, lectures, art and ceramic workshops as well as nature and cultural walks.
East Meets West Piano Duet presents a virtuoso program for piano duo and solo works from the 19th to the 21st centuries, covering diverse musical traditions from the East and West. At the beginning we will hear some the most celebrated works by Johannes Brahms and Edvard Grieg. The concert will then take us to the Far East (...) -

Sunday 1 April 2018 Literary Evening: Alexandra Mitsialipresents her latest book, “Barefoot Heroes”, «Ξυπόλητοι Ήρωες», Patakis Publications in Paxos.
Alexanra Mitsiali is a well-known contemporary Greek author from Corfu with Paxos roots. History of Paxos
Paxos, the smallest of the Ionian Islands, is made up of a cluster of small islands and rocky islets, the largest of which are Paxos and Antipaxos. They are located in north-western Greece 7 nautical miles (13 km) south of Corfu, at a distance of 8 nautical miles (15 km) from the coast of Epirus and 12 miles (22 km) from the mainland port of Parga.
Both Paxos and Antipaxos have a lizard-like, long and narrow shape. The islands cover an area of 29 square kilometers and 3 square kilometers (...) -
Friends of Paxos
The non-profit association of the Friends of Paxos was created in Paxos in 2015 with the initiative of Faye Lychnou and Chris Boïcos.
The objective of the association is to initiate, encourage and organize cultural activities of every type on the island - musical concerts and festivals, art exhibitions, art residencies, musical and artistic workshops and other cultural and artistic projects.
The association also encourages and participates in projects concerning the island’s architectural, (...) -
Mark Ottaway, 1939 - 2016
Mark Ottaway in the 1960s - Mark Ottaway was an integral part of The Sunday Times Insight team that exposed the great British wine-labelling scam.
Dear friends,
Mark Ottaway, celebrated Times journalist, great lover of Greece, long time Paxos resident and dear friend to many of us died in England on 22 December 2016, aged 77.
He will be immensely regretted by all his friends on the island.

Acting Workshop by Ken Rea, October 2016

Ken Rea, renowned theatre director, acting teacher, one of Europe’s top presentation skills trainers and a FOP member offered a one day workshop on acting to amateur actors on Paxos.
The all-day workshop with eleven participants, many from the Paxos Theater Group, including two children, took place in Greek and English on Saturday 29 October 2016 at the Multiple Use Hall of the School Center in Bogdanatika with Faye Lychnou acting as (...)
